What is a concealer?

A concealer is a product that is a bit of a life-saver. The product can be used to cover everything from impurities on the skin, dark circles, pigment spots, redness, or the like. A concealer is used on smaller and more local areas of the face as opposed to a foundation which is used to a greater extent in larger parts of the face. Ecooking's Concealer is available in three color shades to suit any skin type. And when it comes to covering small beauty flaws, you can safely rely on Ecooking's Concealer, which covers impurities with a snap. Our concealer also contains vitamin E and jojoba oil, which protects, soothes, and moisturizes the skin. Ecooking's Concealer has a light consistency, which quickly penetrates the skin.

What is the difference between foundation and concealer?

Concealer is used locally on smaller "spots" on the face, while the  foundation is used for larger areas of the face. A concealer is usually used after your foundation because the product contains more pigment. Therefore, concealer can better cover everything that your foundation does not hide. If you are not using foundation, you can use concealer to cover local stains. It will help to create a more natural look.

What color concealer should I choose?

When choosing the color of your concealer, it is very important to consider where in the face the concealer should be used. If the concealer is to be used under the eyes, there are two ways of using it.

If you are looking for a fresher and more alert look, use a concealer that is lighter than your own skin tone. The bright concealer will act as a highlighter that highlights your eye area. If you are looking for a more natural look, we recommend that you use a concealer that has the same color as your skin tone.

If you want to cover pimples, pigment spots, scars, or, for example, redness, it is most optimal that you choose a concealer that matches your natural skin color and has a high opacity. Ecooking's Concealer has a high opacity - regardless of which color you choose.
It may be a good idea to mix a few colors on the back of your hand when you need to find the right concealer color.

How do I apply a concealer?

There are several ways to apply concealer. You can use your fingers, a brush, or a sponge.

Here is some good advice on what you should pay special attention to in the different application methods:

Apply concealer with a brush

This way you get the highest coverage of the concealer. Ecooking's Concealer Brush is developed specifically for this purpose. The dense brush ensures that you get a higher coverage with your concealer - ergo - the denser the brush - the higher the coverage. It is important that you clean your brush once in a while. Ecooking's Intimate Wash is ideal for cleaning all your makeup brushes.

Apply concealer with your fingers

While some prefer to apply concealer with a brush, others prefer to apply the concealer with their fingers. It is extremely easy, and the heat from your fingers ensures that the concealer "melts" into the skin. However, you need to pay special attention to having clean and cleansed hands before applying your concealer so that you do not add bacteria to your skin. When you apply the concealer with your fingers, you also achieve a very natural result.

Apply concealer with a sponge

A third alternative is to apply your concealer with a sponge. Makeup sponges are especially good for smoothing out the transitions between concealer and foundation, as they are ideal for smoothing out color differences.

Tip for applying Ecooking's Concealer

If the areas where you have applied concealer start to dry out and look ugly during the day, you can dab a little moisturizer on your fingertips and dab it on the skin lightly. That way, your skin will look fresh again.
